All dressed up with nowhere to go for the holidays? Hosting your holiday party at home can be just as fancy as any five-star fine restaurant, as long as you know what to do. Thankfully, we know a thing or two about how to set a table and set a standard of excellence. Join us as we share everything you need to impress your guests at your next holiday dinner party.

As with any great party, ambiance is everything. Start by setting some music that not only complements the theme of the party but acts as a backing track for your guests’ conversations. Create a playlist that combines some holiday classics, hits from year’s past, personal favorites and feel-good tunes.

Now that the tone is set, shall we set the table? A well-designed dinner setting allows you to focus more on the merrymaking instead of making sure the flowers and salad forks are in their proper places. These tips will help ensure you have a merry little get-together.

FAKE IT, UNLESS YOU CAN MAKE IT

Adding little touches of holly and holiday-centric elements will help bring the whole package together. However, if you can find the time, and resources, use natural and fresh elements, to bring your table to life. Fill small mason jars with water, cranberries, acorns and a stem of pine to give your table some texture and share the smells of the season with your guests.

THE NAMES ARE THE GAME

Elegantly labeled name cards for your guests not only add a touch of care and thoughtfulness but quite literally spell out where your guests should be seated. For an extra festive feel, tuck the name cards into pinecones or attach them to a miniature ornament with elegant tinsel.

DON’T FORGET THE LIGHTS

Brighten the holiday party with an assortment of candles. Create a stunning centerpiece by combining tea lights, pinecones and trimmings of pine.

Whether you’re hosting the entire block or just simply in-laws from out of town, these tips will help bring your party home for the holidays. And of course, if you’re looking to forego the fuss, we’ll always have a seat for you.
